Chairperson

General

  • To assist the Group Scout Leader in the effective operation of the Scout Group, by leading and supporting Group administrators in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.
  • As chairperson of the trustee body, the Group Executive, the Group Chairperson is responsible to the District Scout Council
  • To understand and accept The Scout Association´s polices, have a satisfactory CRB clearance and to complete the appropriate training modules
  • Ensure all members of the Group Executive are fully briefed on the requirements of their roles
  • Maintain effective communication with the District Chairman

Group Exec Meetings

  • Chair Group Exec meetings throughout the year
  • Get agreement for last meetings minutes, correcting if necessary, then sign
  • Check on status of all actions from last meeting
  • Work closely with and support the Group Scout Leader maintaining effective communication

Annual General Meeting

  • Ensure annual general meeting takes place within 6 months of the end of the financial year
  • Ensure that a minimum of two weeks notice is given for the AGM
  • Attend and Chair AGM
  • Get agreement for last meetings minutes, correcting if necessary, then sign
