• Note: this is NOT a Group Exec position

FirstNews is the newsletter of our Scout Group and is published once a term and covers the previous terms news. There are three publication a year, Autumn, Spring and Summer. Publication should be as near as possible to the start of the term but at the vary latest by half term. We publish FirstNews on our web site, send electronically to each parent/guardian for which we have an email address and provide paper copies for those that do not have web or email access.

Help will be given on publishing on the web site and sending out via email by the Webmaster.

The format of the newsletter is fixed and the relevant people know that they have to provide input. On rare occasions a section may not provide input in which case the Editor generates it from the previous terms programme.

  • Fund Raising for a flyer for the next event, this may already be available on the web site

• Generating
  • Collate all the individual items into a newsletter
  • Check for spelling and grammar and correct as necessary
• Publishing
  • Send copy to Webmaster for web site
  • Send out to all parents/guardians via email, Webmaster can help here
  • Generate about 30 paper copies and place in rack inside Entrance Hall of Hut
  • Put notice on board inside Entrance Hall of Hut informing that a new version is available
