Leader

The official job definition can be found in "Process, Organisation and Rules" (POR) on the Scouts web site at job definitions.

Overview

The job definition of a Leader is the same for all three sections; Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.

1st Wokingham interpretation

  • Attend section meeting, or ensure coverage by another warranted leader
  • Run the section meeting or delegate parts to another warranted leader or helper
  • Arrange section programme for each term
  • Arrange and attend summer camp
  • Collect term subscriptions or group event fees and forward to Treasurer
  • Warranted position so can help at any of the section meetings
  • Attend meetings of all the leaders in the group (Group Leaders Meeting)
  • Attend, and lead section, at St. George's Day Parade
  • Attend Group Exec Meetings (Thursday every 7 [ish] weeks)
  • Provide term report for FirstNews newsletter
  • Attend District Leaders meetings in a rota with Assistant Section Leaders (1 or 2 a year)
  • Provide support to other sections where required
  • Support the Exec Committee by attending Group events and providing constructive comment
